Existe dificultad para desarrollar una dinámica de trabajo con los niños y niñas, la experiencia hasta el momento ha demostrado que se requiere de mayores habilidades para ingresar en el ámbito infantil y lograr una verdadera apropiación de sus derechos en este grupo meta y trabajar en aspectos complejos como las relaciones familiares.

The best I can come up with is "grasp" but I'm sure there must be some better ideas out there.

As a Spanish native speaker, my understanding of the meaning of the word "apropiación" in the different examples that you provide is that it has slightly different meanings.

Depending on whether your text deals more with education or psycho-sociological processes, you might find some more appropriate than others. Here are some suggestions:
