Spanish term or phrase: Bajo un telón cargado de moralidad,
Bajo un telón cargado de moralidad, la prostituta voluntaria aparece como aquella que debido a su propia trasgresión social “se merece lo que tiene”

I know what is intended, but can't quite put my finger on the right expression. It might contain words like PRUDERY, MORAL REPROBATION, etc.

Help appreciated

tia:-)

Those who wear/hide behind the cloak of morality (recast the sentence)

Explanation:
Those who wear/hide behind the cloak of morality would say that the independent prostitute, because or her social transgression, deserves whatever happens to her.

I think this is a mixed metaphor in Spanish. The "cloak of morality" is what hypocrites wear; prostitutes do not labor under the cloak of morality, they labor under the scorn of the moralists.

"Clock of morality" is a common expression (17,800 words):

... was that **they have this cloak of morality** around what they were doing, ... vice racket pictures which always focused on women falling into prostitution. ...
