The full text is available in the internet. After a quick look at it, my opinion is that a literal translation here will work best. A proportional model, as I understood, is a model that takes into consideration the proportions of each variety of language or "dialect", going from "standard Spanish" to "standard English", between mono e bilingual people. The word "proportion" is used throughout the text in its most common meaning, that is to show or tell how much each part participates in the whole. |
