Spanish term or phrase: Campeonato de Galgo
I just saw this on T.V. and thought it was a curious sport. I have never seen this sport outside of Spain.

So I was wondering if anyone knew what this sport is in English. I could improvise and call it "Greyhound Field Racing" or something like that, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Here is their web site: http://www.galgoes.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=21977158cc7045768...

agree  JPW: However, as to whether it is a 'sport' or not, I'll leave that to others to decide...There is a specific reference to hares on this website.

Greyhound Championship

Explanation:
Greyhound racing, you bet on them just like horses. They run on a track, apparently after some kind of artificial bunny, we have such racing here but I'm not a gambler.

You saw it on TV but I do not have that CONTEXT, so what you saw may be different, I have no idea.

neutral  Patricia Rosas: not racing, but an event like an obedience competition (you can see this in my link below). The greyhound rescue organizations are working to change it from a betting sport to a true canine competition.
