"Nunca he sido un gran jinete, pero adoro la sensación de adentrarme en la naturaleza a lomos de un buen caballo campero".
The endurance ride ('raid' in Spanish) is a competitive race involving daily stages of 70 or so kilometres on rural tracks.

Explanation: Given Sandra's explanation of the meaning, this is what they are called in the US West, but of course, that may not be the best translation for your context. "Sure-footed" seems better to me ...
