Spanish term or phrase: comodín
comodín = Aquel jugador, que puede jugar en una banda o en la contraria, de defensa o de medio centro, de delantero o de extremo. Ese jugador que se ha esforzado tanto por ser polivalente que se ha olvidado de qué juega.

A lo largo de la historia han habido muchos jugadores que han ido cambiando de puesto con el paso de los años: Hierro que empezó de medio adelantado y acabó de central leñero, Nadal empezó de delantero y el centro de la defensa le acogió al final de su carrera. Así, muchos jugadores han visto como sus condiciones físicas y su experiencia han ido cambiando su rol en los equipos.

Pero desde hace unos años a esta parte ha nacido la figura del jugador comodín.
