There are two processes of cold galvanizing (or galvanising in Br. spelling):
by electroplating or by applying zinc-rich paint.
Hot galvanizing is accomplished by dipping the piece of metal into a vat of hot molten zinc. The process is usually called "hot-dip galvanizing" in English. See the two links below.
