Spanish term or phrase: juntas de dilatación
I know what these are, they are those joints which compensate for expansion or contraction due to heat. Such as can be found on motorway bridges. But what do we call them in English?

"Estas propiedades son de vital importancia ya que, al ser menores los coeficientes de dilatación lineal y la conductividad térmica, permiten en ciertos casos de utilización como canalones, tejados, estructuras… reducir o incluso eliminar las juntas de dilatación."
