(Arq.) wreathed column Explanation: Larousse. This is what the dictionary says. I have no idea why it is associated with Solomon, since the reconstruction drawn up by Jewish Rabbis does not exactly show wreathed columns. (Possibly this refers to Herod's reconstruction of 30 B.C. thereabouts, in which there were supposedly garlands and bunches of grapes). |
