Well, live and learn. I never imagined that mahogany was a kind of palm! However, I think I'd use just plain *mahogany* in English, as most of the sites (18 in all) I could locate that use "mahogany palm" were English/Spanish sites. Here are a few samples. And I've pasted in the URL for the Google search results below.
