Gas oil - Naphtha Explanation: I have seen these two terms in English documents. I have found the following definitions in Webster's. Gas oil: An oily liquid obtained in the fractional distillation of petroleum, boiling between the kerosene and lubricating oil fractions; used esp. as diesel fuel and heating oil. Naphtha: A flammable, volatile, oily liquid produced by the fractional distillation of petroleum: it is the fraction that boils between gasoline and kerosene and it is used as fuel, solvent and illuminant.... I also found similar definitions in Babylon. I believe they are technical terms widely used in the oil industry. Saludos. Webster's Dictionary Babylon's Oil and Gas Field Glossary |
