Truck box (truck bed, truck bed box): Double-wall steel construction Explanation: Strictly speaking, the “bed” is the extended part in the rear of the truck, which can be utilized in many different ways. Sometimes it is used plainly as nothing more than a flat surface (“flat bed”). In this case it would not be appropriate to call it a box. But in most situations, something resembling a box is fitted there to make it more useful. In your context, we are clearly talking about a box, otherwise, we would not be talking about “double-wall.” This is where the confusion begins. This “box” is sometimes called a box, at other times a bed. The two terms are often used interchangeably, sometimes in the same paragraph. I have also seen it called “truck bed box,” but this expression is also used for the tool box which usually occupies the anterior part of the “bed.” Of course it is all very confusing. Just take a look at the following example: http://www.bruzerbox.com/fullsize.html “Bruzer boxes for full -size pickups are a complete aftermarket pickup bed replacement for heavy duty and industrial use. Need a new Ford truck bed, a new Chevy truck bed, a new Dodge truck bed? Bruzer industrials are a custom truck bed designed for working. They aren't pretty, but they will stand up to a lot of abuse.” “Doble pared de acero,” refers to the double-wall steel construction, sometimes just called “double-wall,” as in the following example: http://www.toolsofthetrade.net/truckguide/ “Other upgrades include longer, deeper double-wall truck beds, rear-wheel ABS standard on all models and four-wheel ABS on 4x4 models.” Fuad Reference: http://www.bruzerbox.com/fullsize.html Reference: http://www.toolsofthetrade.net/truckguide/ |
