>> see below << Explanation: rótula = ball joint or universal joint ojo = eye, port, opening Here's a literal rendering: "An oval ball-joint opening that serves as a coupling between the socket of the insulator and the shackle. While the shackle ensures a degree of freedom in the longitudinal direction, the oval ball-joint opening ensures a degree of freedom in the transverse direction." and here's a slightly smoother version: "An oval ball-joint opening serves as a coupling between the insulator socket and the shackle. The shackle allows play in the lengthwise direction, while the oval ball-joint opening allows play in the crosswise direction." |
