Spanish term or phrase:arao
I'm in a quandary. I wasn't actually going to translate any proper names, but I find myself with a series of meeting rooms and auditoriums that are going to look terrible in the original ("Bitácora Room") so I've had no choice but give them English names. And now I get "Auditorio Arao", which seems to be galego (the venue is in A Coruña). I can get by in the street, but my literacy in Galician is null. TIA for any help.
But...will it sound any better once translated...?

It could also be a proper name (surname), but if the other rooms are named following a marine leit motif, it cuold make since since this is a marine bird. :O)
Fore and aft for proa and proa - not poetic but still...barlovento and sotavento: windward and leeward actually sound better to me in English... :O) :O)
But...will it sound any better once translated...?

In many Latin American countries people took the practice of omitting the last "d" in many words, this use was adopted after Immigrants from Galicia (gallegos) for example:
Callado = Callao = silent
