Spanish term or phrase: en correspondencia con la edad
From a report on the tourism market in Spain and the breakdown by age and occupation:
"El jubilado, EN CORRESPONDENCIA CON LA EDAD, se presenta en mayor proporción al principio y al final del año."
I am puzzled by this. I think from the context it may refer to the resultant effect on the average age of tourists, or perhaps "judging by age".

as befits their age group

Explanation:
I interpret it to mean that a high percentage of pensioners take their (often state-sponsored)holidays in the winter months, and this for a number of reasons: it is cheaper to go to, say, Torremolinos or any other given coastal resort off-season, for instance. Also, the coast has a milder climate than inland Spain, which is a welcome change for ailing seniors during the harsh winters up North (Castilia can get to be pretty nippy, believe me).
Maybe the expression I chose is not the most appropiate in English, but I'm quite sure of the meaning I just explained. Hope this helps.

agree  cello: Your explanation is correct. At these times of year I am often 'mobbed' by Madrid/Catalan etc IMSERSO OAPs asking for directions:-) (I live in Torremolinos). However, I think that Henry's wording is probably better. ¡Saludos desde Torroles!

for reasons to do with (their) age

Explanation:
I think this is one of the occasions when a bit of 'overtranslation' is okay - meaning that I think that the phrase would benefit from a bit more clarity in English.

I would rewrite the sentence and change the structure slightly:

'For reasons to do with (their) age, the majority of pensioners etc...'

I agree with Pablo's interpretation, but am not sure that 'befits' is the best choice here - it sounds a bit prescriptive, as if the report were saying that this was when pensioners should take their holidays!
