Even though the literal "tourist corridor" option has been used in some translations concerning this Mexican location, we decided to go with "tourist belt", which seems to be more widely used as a general term.

It probably comes from a Asian translations, since I've found so many references for Thailand and the Philipines tourist belt...

Thanks everybody!

strip of highway (filled) with (many) tourist facilities/attractions

Explanation:
Not to be confused with "'strip' malls," a "strip of highway" is widely used. It seems to me this might serve as a good starting point.

It is a **strip of highway between Cabo San Jose and Cabo San Lucas**, about 10 miles long. Getting from a hotel to either town is quite expensive ($30 round ...

Another option might be "tourism-oriented stretch/strip of highway"

Note: Although "tourism corridor" may sound a bit odd to some (this writer included), it is apparently used quite a bit in the very context of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Depending on your target audience, Robert's suggestion may be the best option.

Explanation:
Kind of like tourism rather than tourist. Tourist to me says 'corridor where the tourists are', but tourism says corridor where there are tourist attractions.
