agree  nedra: I agree, especially in light of the whole British/American motorway/dual carriageway/highway confusion. I'd use "Mediterranean Road" in parentheses the first time, even though it sounds crap in English. It's the only way to avoid this problem.

  -> Thanks

agree  Rachel Fell: Depending on context, etc., as usual, I think I'd leave it in Spanish (in italics) and put the English translation/name in brackets (or vice versa)
11 mins
  -> Good idea, thanks

agree  Simon Bruni: yep, I would avoid using highway for UK English (unless the subject is 17th Centrury robberies!)
19 mins
  -> Thanks - if you want modern highway robbery, the tolls around Marbella and in Catalonia take some beating !

Mediterranean motorway

Explanation:
Although what Lorenzo says is also a possibility(i.e. leave it in Spanish), this is another option (that gets more hits on goolge in English)
If you are talking about the A-7 in UK English it is a motorway, not a dual carriageway (which would be the N 340), though it is a bit confusing as the two roads cross between here (Torremolinos) and Gibraltar several times.

agree  Mark Solomon: Exactly ! Dual carriageway is something different and highway is simply wrong for the UK.
