Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tourism & Travel / for people who know Logroño
Spanish term or phrase:aduana
"El Hotel X está situado en la zona comercial de La Jonquera, junto a la aduana." Wouldn't really pose a problem except that obviously such a customs office would no longer be functioning. So: is this a building/ruin? A street?
I found a reference to "aduana de Castilla" around the 16th century, suspect as far as an old Taifa "diwan", but can't really say "beside customs" as regards a landlocked province smack in the middle of modern Spain.
Thanks, I added 'old'. OTH, it's misleading to take 'La Jonquera' as a starting point in this instance since this is ANOTHER place with the same name as the town in Barcelona. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
