Spanish term or phrase: por aproximación de hileras
From a description of prehistoric stone structures (dolmens) in Spain:

Does this mean "with a single-file approach" or something else?

corbel vault
Explanation:
I ran into this one myself a while back, although mine said "hiladas" instead of hileras.

The Diccionario Visual de Arquitectura (Ching) gives "corbel vault" for "falsa bóveda", and the illustration is what you see here:

You can see why they call it "aproximación de hileras/hiladas".

Here's the definition in English:

corbel vault

A concave formation of blocks, usually stone or masonry; the vault is formed by blocks as they project inward from the layer on which they rest.

More definitions:

corbel vault - In architecture, a vault built on the same principle as a corbelled arch.

corbelled arch - In architecture, a "false arch" bridging a gap by means of overlapping blocks of masonry. Also see corbel.

by placing the rows nearer each other

Explanation:
I believe this "vault" is allowed architecturally by narrowing the rows and thus there is resulting space

agree  Nikki Graham: Aha! You are too quick. I haven't come across this before, but my research also led me to corbel-vault (it is hyphenated in the Oxford dictionary of architecture, for what it's worth).
