Spanish term or phrase: con los brazos abiertos

In a letter in Spanish inviting people to visit a town:

Preceding phrase I have already translated: I am sure that once you have seen zzzzz, you will fall in love with its natural beauty, the friendliness of its people and the potential for growth that the city offers.

Then it says in closing:
En zzzz, los esperamos con los brazos abiertos

I tried:
Come to zzz. A warm welcome is awaiting you!/A warm welcome awaits. These sound too Spanish to me. I would appreciate your ideas. Thanks.

Asker: Note to Nicholas and all: Your comment is very well-taken and I basically agree, but once a text is translated, we must ask ourselves, "Is this the way a native would say this?" If not, then I feel we must make the phrase more native-like. In this case we need to go one step beyond, I think, because the context of the expression might be inappropriate. In any case, the writer is willing to discuss the few slight changes I have made. That doesn't happen in all cases, but this one is a great (and fun) job. Thanks for your comment.

translatol: It strikes me as friendly and enthusiastic rather than intimate, so I see no reason not to used this well-established English metaphor.

Nicholas Ferreira: The job of a translator is not to re-write the text. If the Spanish says "with open arms" and we can say the same in English, do it. The author knows why they chose this term and not another. Spanish also has options, but the author wants this. Period.

Asker: I had written you a note before, but think it was eliminated before I sent it. Yes, I was swayed by the comment Nicholas made about keeping it true if possible, then when the references using same phrase were pointed out, I decided to leave it the same.
