Spanish term or phrase: se han convertido en la prolongación vertical
Auténtico símbolo de esta ciudad engarzadas en la roca, se han convertido en la prolongación vertical de la pared caliza.

Desribing the "hanging houses" (casas colgadas) in Cuenca. I am trying to find the best way to explain this - the idea being that the houses and limestone facade have become one. Words seem to be failing me at the moment. Any suggestions?

agree  Margarita M. Martínez: ... the vertical extension of the limestone wall. (I don't think that facade the way Adam is thinking proceeds here). Maybe (not literally) you can use the idea of "and they both look like one", Adam. Feliz fin de semna "chiquito" (viernes), mmm

or perhaps, "By extending the wall vertically, the houses appear to become one with the rock face"? (that's not what your text says but that would get across the idea you asked about)
