Explanation:
Hi Adam,

I'm not a hunter, but I found a picture on the web, which I shan't post because the text was almost identical to yours. In the picture you can see the hunters walking along in a V-formation much like the pattern of migrating geese.

Hope it helps, good luck!

agree  Patricia Rosas: I was racking my brain without being able to come up with either one--they are really synonyms (a fan forms a V). I'll give Alvaro an agree, too! ;-)

-> Thanks Ace. Admittedly, I know very little abouthunting, and don't intend to find too much out. Fanned was also the 1st expression that sprang to mind, but then I thought 'abanico' sounds different to 'ala'. :O) :O)

hand of hunters

Explanation:
Aquí va un texto en inglés de la "caza en mano" y la denominación que se le da a la formación de los cazadores.

Hunting in Hand

More appropriate animals to practice this type of hunting: partridge, rabbit and hare.

Season: October to January. ***Several hunters form a line that denominates 'hand of hunters', (the name of the modality)***. These must be perfectly coordinated and to pay attention to the captain to the group, generally the hunter with more experience. It is fundamental that the hunters located in the ends of the hand go more advanced than the rest. It can practice with or without dog, although most advisable it is his use, since it will be the best form search of the pieces that fall.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for the link but I have to agree with Patricia, the translation is not good!

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
neutral  Patricia Rosas: unfortunately, the text is written in very poor and unnatural-sounding English (clearly a translation)...
