I am wondering what the equivalent terms are in English for these bowhunting methods. If not, maybe I will opt for a literal translation. TIA
Explanation: It's all there in the web site I gave you above:
Still hunting, stalking, and glassing are various methods of moving slowly through woods and pastures or along trails, hillsides, and mountain slopes. In still hunting, you move slowly and deliberately until you spot game—before it spots you. Still hunting requires exact attention to details such as wind, sunlight, weather conditions, cover, and noise. Generally, the hunter will take a few slow, deliberate steps and then stand or squat motionless for several minutes while scanning all surrounding areas for game. In stalking, the game has been spotted and the hunter slowly and deliberately maneuvers into shooting range and position for an effective shot. Glassing is sitting for a long time at vantage points and spotting game from afar with binoculars or spotting scopes. All of these methods require patience and are usually most effective from the downwind side.

You're welcome, Adam. I would have nosed about the web site and tried to figure it out earlier, but ... I was working on the Galapagos stuff!
Thanks Mimoza. I here what you say but these are different methods of bow hunting. From what I understand "al vuelo" is a method of shooting the bird when it is has taken flight, "al acecho" is "still hunting for very fast animals" and "pieza avistada" refers to 'spotting' the specimen first. Obviously this is all a bit long-winded and I was looking to see if the equivalent terms were used in English. By the way, I think "the wait" is correct here. Thanks again.
Explanation: Adam, I am afraid that these are not types of hunting. I think the writer is trying to express the excitement of hunting...
The words above mean:
the throwing ( meaning : of the arch in the air); the wait (meaning: the hunter's waiting to see the result of throwing the arch); the (magnificent piece of ) view... ( meaning : such a beautiful thing to see)
At least that is how I understand it..... Good luck!

Asker: Thanks Patricia - I had looked at the website you gave. My note was simply in reference to Mimoza's comment that these are not methods of hunting". Thanks again
