Spanish to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Tourism & Travel / Buildings- wood | | Spanish term or phrase: regias maderas de roble | It is the description a redecorated parador.
The entire phrase is causing me problems: what form of wood does the maderas refer too is it beams? Floor boards? (I know that it is oak). What about 'magnificent oak beams'?
Context:
Regias maderas de roble y una mezcla de estilo moderno y clásico hacen de este un nuevo Parador, donde los textiles acentúan el carácter medieval, el uso de los rojos y naranjas contrastan con la sobriedad del espacio. |

| | solid oak | Explanation: Very much in the rural Parador style, p.ej Gredos.
I wouldn´t specify if not necessary, which I don't think it is.
"Solid oak and a mixture of modern and classic styles...."
Regio has positive connotations, and of luxury etc, which I think is conveyed by "solid" |

| Grading comment Thanks Noni, I went for magnificent oak in the end. It was the word 'wood' that was causing me problems and youre suggestion of emission sounds much more English. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
