"El pueblo con sus casas blancas, en calcinadas, con flores y bonitos portales, declarado Paisaje Pintoresco el año 1972. Se conserva una torre semicilíndrica y una puerta de arco rebajado cerca de la Plaza Grande"
They are talking, of course, of Cadaques in Catalonia! Just wondering if there is an "official" translation for this term.

To my U.S.-English ears, this sounds like an acceptable rendering. I think the version you choose will depend in part on where your translation is going to e read. In the U.S. we have official Scenic Areas, Scenic Highways, Historic Monuments ...
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is not a common phrase found in U.S. tourist writings. |

Every country has a unique system of designations that don't translate well. In this case, using the words "declared" or "designated" and capitalization for Scenic Area will convey the meaning. I'm not sure of an "official" translation, but to give context, here in the U.S., our car culture has given us several as in: "Scenic Byway" or "Scenic Route" or "Scenic Highway" or "Scenic Neighborhood".
I like Martin's answer, but it is a bit wordy and is also specific to the U.K.. Martin, it sounds like AONB is more for landscapes? This paisaje pintoresco refers to a town, but the instant recognition in U.K. is valuable.
I think you would do well to list _who_ declared the site, as in "National Scenic Area" or "was declared a Scenic Area by the province of XX"
