I apologize for the lack of context. This is from an extortion/threat letter from El Salvador. I think that Jairo's note makes the most sense, because the victim is being instructed to make a money drop. It makes sense that he would be told to drop the money into, or through, a gate, rather than in a hollow or depression.

As CONTEXT, it would seem to be vitally important to cite the ORIGIN here, because it appears to be a local term (but from where?).

If it's in a field then it's less likely to refer to a portón & if it's badly spelled, it's less likely that the author would use an eloquent word for hollow? Is there any chance that it might be falso EN tu - could it refer to falso as in "bogus money"?
