urbanizations

Explanation:
In Spain, this Spanglish term is now commonly used, although it is not strictly correct English used in this sense.

Even seen with the UK English "s" spelling, as in this website:
"Holiday apartment in the Brisamar Golf urbanisation, Costa de la Luz, Cádiz..."

If you google "urbanisation Costa" several similar pages come up...

residential developments

Language variant: UK/USA

Explanation:
Esta es la opción que yo uso habitualmente, en un contexto de centros inmobiliario/turísticos. Ver el Oxford Superlex, "conjuntos residenciales".-

-> Thanks, neilmac. Since this obviously is for the USA and comes from LA, I don't think "urbanizaciones" works here, they don't even know about the term over there as it is used in Spain. I myself learnt about it when I moved over here 5 years ago..........
