Antiguo templo y posteriormente teatro, la actual biblioteca construida en el siglo XVII, famosa por los frescos y óleos del pintor Vlady, alberga colecciones importantes de libros antiguos.

I'm working on a project for English tourists (mainly tourist attractions like museums and monuments) for people who visit Mexico.

I assume that "fresco" is something related to paintings, but I don't know. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Thanks in advance...
