This is a description of a public building and its use over the last 100 years. It will be on a panel outside the building as part of an architectural tour of the town. I'm looking for something colloquial, not stuffy, sounding.

Not even sure if inverted commas would help.

I've been reflecting on this, and I don't think glue would be any "weirder" on a panel than aglutinante would be in Spanish. I'm sticking with it, if you'll excuse the dreadful pun.
