Explanation:
As far as I know, this should be Medianías, which is a pretty well-known area..

Considering the audience, I wouldn't translate it but would instead explain. You could stick "midlands" in brackets after "Medianías" if you want, but otherwise I think a slightly more elaborate wording is needed for Anglophones.
