Spanish term or phrase: Balneario
Hola, estoy traduciendo sobre playas y balnearios.

Quisiera saber como se dice "balneario" pero no en el sentido de Resort (complejo), si como lugar de baño.

Por ejemplo, los lugares con agua y rocas....

Por ejemplo; se dan los nombres de los balnearios;

Camping balneario Don Roque (argentina)

Balneario Comunal San Jose de la Esquina y dice que tiene

14 parcelas / área campamentil de 20 carpas / 15 casas rodantes / agua potable y luz / sanitarios / asadores y mesas / bar /comedor / quincho / bajada de lanchas / balneario natural

en otros lados dice "balneario artificial"

gracias

Bathing station
Explanation:
UK (& Ca) English - slightly old fashioned now. However would be just the multi purpose expression I think you're looking for.
Suggest Google search "bathing station" followed by seaside/lake/river or whatever, otherwise you get lots of things for babies or dogs!

seaside resort/town/camping

Explanation:
It look like there is not an accurate translation for "Balneario" as used in Argentina (and in Chile too).
The closest thing that comes to my mind is seaside resort/town/camping depending on the type of balneario.

Regards.

"Balneario" Camp ground with open air and indoor bathing facilities*

Explanation:
A "balneario" in Spain means a spa - 90% with natural mineral springs, usually with some public areas but mainly private hotels with an emphasis on health and beauty treatments. The meaning in Argentina is obviously very different. The places mentioned in the text are camp grounds with some basic water park facilities. I haven't seen any mention of mineral springs or treatments. I would stick with the word "Balneario" in quotes but followed by a description that won't deceive an English reader: if it has indoor and outdoor bathing facilities say that; if it has an outdoor water park (no indoor pool) just say that.

beach complex/facility

Explanation:
I'm just back from my summer break on the Altlantic coast in Ostende (Argentina) and the "balneario" concept covers a few scenarios .. could be nothing more than a place to go dancing at night (vamos al balneario xx) or a facility providing beach services (carpas, comida, reposeras, etc.) ... I would go for "beach facility" or "beach complex"

Beach Campsite- Camping club

Explanation:
According to Cambridge Advanced Learner's dictionary:
campsite noun [C]
1 (Australian English camping ground, US also campground) a piece of land where people on holiday can camp, usually with toilets and places for washing.

I have been to "balnearios" in Paraná and Córdoba and I believe "camping club" /" beach campsite" may describe the concept quite accurately.

¡Suerte y saludos!

resort

Explanation:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/resort

–noun
3.
a place to which people frequently or generally go for relaxation or pleasure, especially one providing rest and recreation facilities for vacationers: a popular winter resort.

Creo que la palabra se puede emplear en el significado que tenía años atrás, cuando "place" era un grupo de viviendas, hoteles y otras instalaciones, y no en el sentido que se le da a veces hoy en día en que se usa para un solo establecimiento que incluye muchos servicios.

Merriam-Webster: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/resort

a : frequent, habitual, or general visiting <a place of popular resort> b : persons who frequent a place : throng c (1) : a frequently visited place : haunt (2) : a place providing recreation and entertainment especially to vacationers

Si bien hoy en día es como tú decís, y se lo usa en el sentido de "complejo", tengo la fuerte sensación de que la otra acepción es posible.

Tal vez agregándole un adjetivo que lo califique para aclarar.

Pongo esta opción para que los native speakers puedan dar su opinión, pero la pongo con bajo nivel de seguridad porque no quiero que nadie piense que vengo pisando fuerte... es solo para tratar de ayudarte.

Débora, tal vez lo mejor sea usarlo como adjetivo:

"RESORT TOWN" o "RESORT DESTINATION"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resort_town
A resort town, sometimes called a resort city or resort destination, is a town or area where tourism or vacationing is a primary component of the local culture and economy. Most resort towns have one or more actual resorts in or nearby, although some places are considered resort towns merely because of their popularity among tourists.

Typically, the economy of a resort town is geared almost entirely towards catering to tourists, with most residents of the area working in the tourism or resort industry. Shops and luxury boutiques selling locally-themed souvenirs, motels, and unique restaurants often proliferate the downtown areas of a resort town.
