las praderas de posidonia que existen entre Ibiza / Eivissa y Formentera, en el Parque Natural de Ses Salines. Son un *auténtico pulmón* para el Mediterráneo, un paraíso para buceadores y el origen de la transparencia de las aguas y de los arenales de las playas.

agree  Charles Davis: I was about to post this too: "a real green lung". Although the expression refers primarily to parks in cities, it is now widely used for larger areas like this. // Yes indeed - let's hope it's not going to be a bad summer for fires

agree  neilmac: Here in Valencia, they are always on about "el pulmón verde"of the city, but I don't think it translates well as "lung"...

  -> Thanks Neil; my wife & I were pretty active in the green movement (in Mexico) during the 90's & "pulmon verde" is a more common term, I think, in Latin America than in other places. Saludos! eski :))
