Spanish term or phrase: Figuras de protección

En la traducción de un folleto de los lugares que se pueden visitar en mi región, se habla principalmente de montañas y espacios naturales.

En este folleto aparece la frase: La red de Espacios Naturales protegidos del Alto Aragón engloba distintas figuras de protección. La traducción que propongo es ésta: The network of protected Natural Spaces in the the Upper-Aragón includes different figures of protection.

Mi duda está en el término "figuras de protección", pues no se si se debe traducir literal en este caso o existe otro término en lengua inglesa más adecuado en este contexto.

Simon Bruni: yes, or just "designation" as you point out. They include Special Protection Areas (for birds etc), Special Areas of Conservation, Nature Reserves, National Parks etc etc.
