I have translated material in the past for the "Meetings Industry" and this was the term used, as it incorporates all types of 'meetings' - seminars, congresses, etc.

Also referred to as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) Tourism:

On the further context supplied, I would suggst:

"MEETINGS AND EVENTS TOURISM"

or MICE TOURISM as I mentioned earlie, although it sounds odd it covers everything.

MICE Tourism - Europe - May 2005

This report evaluates Europe’s share of the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions market as a whole. Examining the relative performance of the region’s major national and metropolitan destinations, it also offers an overview of their facilities and the number of events and visitors they attract.

***MICE- the new form of business tourism is the fastest growing section of the International tourism market. It caters to various forms of business meetings, International conferences and conventions, events and exhibitions**** and is slowly but steadily capturing every big hotelier's attention. Being a hot favourite tourist destination, India is also very much into the business. After the hot-spots like Hong Kong, Malaysia and Dubai, India is fast gaining its pace in the competition to become an ideal MICE destination.
