Spanish to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Tourism & Travel | | Spanish term or phrase: provocar y canalizar | El texto es de Argentina y de tipo promocional en el sector del turismo.
"Las agencias de viajes se han convertido en uno de los factores importantes en la comercialización de la oferta turística al provocar y canalizar de manera directa el desplazamiento individual y masivo (de gente)."
Se me ocurre como posibilidad "generate" y "conduct".
"...generating and conducting directly the individual and large scale movement of people. "
No sé si conduct es el término para que la traducción no suene muy literal. BEnglish en este caso.

Explanation: alternatives to 'steer' could be: direct, orient. otra notita: como el texto fuente habla de un cambio en el rol de las agencias - se sobreentiende que es (algo) reciente - sugerí en la oración ejemplo agregar el adverbio 'increasingly', creo sin estar del todo seguro, que esto recoge la intención del texto fuente.
Example sentence(s):- Travel agencies have become a major factor... as they play an increasingly direct role in generating and steering tourist travel, on both the individual and mass levels.
