Explanation: I am from Villarroya de la Sierra, and "alfaz" it is a mistake. The word should be "alfar", oven where pottery is dryed. Actually, it is roman, they made "terra sigilata", a red pottery for home use.
I don't know exactly the word in English, but I am sure that "alfaz" is not the right Spanish word.
