tyre mounting Explanation: Hi Catherine, I'd simply say 'tyre mounting' as I can hardly think of mounting tyres anywhere else. neumático = tyre llanta = wheel See http://www.aluminium-wheels.co.uk/alcoa_wheels_technical_dat... for example. Follow the existing procedure and safety rules Use only the proper tools. Use only the appropriate tyre size. Do not use a damaged tyre or wheel-inspect them carefully before mounting. Check if the valve is mounted in the right way. Apply Freylube as rim protector and tyre-mounting lubricant. Ensure that the tyre bead is properly seated. Do not over-inflate. Use a protective cage during inflation. Balancing Since Alcoa wheels are fully machined they do not require balancing. The tyre-wheel combination, however, may need corrective weighting. Liquid balancing is not recommended. Special Hofmann designed clip-on and stick-on balance weights are suitable dependant on wheel. Valves Alcoa wheels are supplied with nickel or chrome-plated valves installed. Never install brass valves. Brass is not compatible with aluminium and corrosion will result. The Alcoa standard valve should never be bent to another shape. Different valve extensions may be used. If the valve is changed for any reason, apply 'Freylube' or an equivalent lubricant to the valve hole area and valve seat. Good luck! :O) :O) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 mins (2007-03-09 16:18:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Some trains do have tyres. See this pic as an example (Montreal): http://world.nycsubway.org/perl/show?22145 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2007-03-09 16:19:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Excuse me! That should be "tire" of course! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 mins (2007-03-09 16:21:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Actually, tyre UK, tire US (I actually had to reach for my dictionary!) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 mins (2007-03-09 16:22:26 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- and in the Uk the most frequent expression is "tyre fitting"...eek! |
