Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Transport / Transportation / Shipping
Spanish term or phrase: alta
I am translating a Mexican driver's license for a 21-year-old woman.
At the bottom, under her head shot, the word "MOVIMIENTO" appears. Under "MOVIMIENTO", the word "ALTA" appears.
Does anyone know what "ALTA" refers to?
Thanks.

I also have her renewal, which next to "Movimiento" has in "English" "transacts" and then the word "renovación" underneath, so apparently "alta" means something like "first time" in this case. I'll reword it, though.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I figured this means a "new" license. Under "movimiento" on her second license, issued five years later, was the word "renovación".
