Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Zoology
Spanish term or phrase:concepto museológico y relato expositivo
hmm, it's only 8am and already I have a question :S
I need to get this right because it is core to the larger document that I'll be working on for the next few days.
It's for a zoo, and the document looks in detail at the "fomalización espacial" with phrases like "la visita general y el descubierto del backstage", the "cenytros de interpretación" etc. It also covers the "recorrido expositivo" - all the diffrenet sections of the zoo...
"Este concepto museológico y relato expositivo consolida el planteamiento general del Zoo, argumenta las formalizaciones espaciales, incluidas las de los espacios informativos de acompañamiento, y desarrolla el relato expositivo"
So, I need to be able to summarise the phrase succinctly. I know that "museological" is a word, but is it too "latin". And what of the relato expositivo" - the "expository story" seems too much like jargon to me...
Hi everyone.
Thanks for your answers.
Given the lack of any one clearly correct answer (at least no one answer is clearly correct to me), I am closing this question without awarding points, rather than picking one that may be wrong and it being logged in the "system"... thanks

Explanation: You are right, there's a lot of redundancy in the text. This is how I would translate it:
This museum concept consolidates the general approach of the Zoo, challenges the space formalizations, including the ones of information support, and develops the exhibition narrative.

The idea behind this museum-like approach, with it's narrative exhibits/displays, is to consolidate
Explanation: Been turning this over in my head now for a while, it's tricky, huh? So i tried to squeeze out the meaning and piece it back together and came up with this (which i am quite happy with):
"The idea behind this museum-like approach, with it's narrative exhibits/displays, is to consolidate the...."
Museológico: I kept coming back to the same thing: museum-like . I know, it sounds horrible but i think it is the best fitting solution here. The zoo is attempting a more museum-like approach. That's the way i understand it. And i found this sample from a book about Corporate Museums that uses the same term:
"companies also own and operate art galleries, sculpture garden and visitor information centers that are museum-like,/b> but normally are not considered "museums"
