My try: The successful ??reintegration?? of the birds captured by bird trappers (the captive group) into the natural environment after the captivity period, is incertain.

The source text seems to refer to the 'release into the wild' of birds that have been temporarily held in captivity; the same expression is used when an wild animal has been captured because it is injured and then returned to its 'home territory' after veterinary care.

This is a different context to the 'return' of an endangered species into its natural habitat following a captive breeding programme, for example, where it is usual to refer to 'reintroduction'.
