Explanation:

lorsqu'une personne commence à exercer une activité professionnelle, elle cotise à la sécurité sociale et, par conséquent, elle est assurée. Les périodes d'emploi et de cotisation sont appelées "ALTAS". Lorsqu'elle ne travaille pas, la personne cesse de contribuer activement et, en général, n'a pas droit aux prestations de sécurité sociale. Les périodes d'arrêt de travail sont appelées "BAJAS".
