Lo qué realmente sucede es que el pelo ya no es viable pero está siendo empujado por el crecimiento de la epidermis que todavía está en estrecho contacto con el tallo piloso.

Il tallo credo sia il fusto, mentre bulbo si traduce proprio bulbo.

"El cabello humano consiste en el tallo piloso, que se proyecta desde la superficie de la piel y la raíz, un bulbo blando y grueso en la base del cabello incrustado en la piel. La raíz termina en el bulbo piloso. El bulbo piloso se asienta en un hueco en forma de saco en la piel llamado folículo, a partir del cual crece el cabello."
