Spanish term or phrase: para ser fiel a la verdad

Si tratta di un racconto breve che usa questa espressione che peró tradotta come
"per esser fedeli alla verità" non mi convince...ho pensato anche a onor del vero, per la verità..ma vorrei avere qualche parere
