El otro es aceptado en la totalidad de su persona, esto es, también en su fertilidad y en su posible paternidad o maternidad. Sin embargo, si la unión sexual se entendiera únicamente como la procreación de descendientes, se utilizaría y denigraría al cónyuge como un simple medio; se abusaría de él. Como también se degrada al otro cuando se lo considera simplemente como objeto de placer.
