neutral  Christian Schoenberg: I believe this would be a write-off, instead of a write-down. Addition to note: I may be wrong but I believe that would be "avskrivning"

-> could be, but I am guessing from the context that it it meant to be depreciation - depends upon the amount, and if any notes are attached to it. But it certainly is a possibilty, isn't it?

agree  Lars Jelking: 'Devaluate the assets' are also used though less with respect to financial value.

-> interesting, lots of different opinions on this - and lack of data to determine.

disagree  Sven Petersson: 'depreciation' = 'avskrivning'

-> I am going to ask Becky to provide more information, perhaps there is a Note explaining what the charge is for (there should be if it is a writedown.

agree  Christian Schoenberg: I agree with Sven. Please note that in IAS/IFRS it could also be 'impairment loss' (but only about with fixed assets (non-current assets) and this particular term denotes, as the term implies, losses incurred through impairment.
