I have not been able to verify that this is the exact term for the context involving the Swedish State, so I'm offering this as an option. It is common in both Swedish and English to address the issue of "sistahandsansvar" and "ultimate responsibility" with regards to contracts, e.g. "...det är inte oskäligt att säljaren i sista hand får bära detta ansvar ensam," which I would translate as "....to solely bear the ultimate liability." The term "liability" underscores the aspect of the risk assumed, and in my opinion it is therefore a better choice than the more literal "responsibility." |
