Swedish term or phrase: lantmannagöromål
This question replaces my question earlier today - splitting it into 2 questions as suggested by the answerers.

Context:

Nyktra, välfrejdada och i **lantmannagöromål** arbetsdugliga personer av båda könen.

In connection with the translation of a museum web site (from Danish to English), I have come across the above citation pubished in a Swedish newspaper in 1869. Unfortunately my knowledge of Swedish is rather limited so, even with Google translation's help, I have not been able to get the full translation: Google does not know the word 'lantmannagöromål'. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Thanks Sven, this seems to me to be the most appropriate expression considering the context.

occupied with farmering activitiees/chores

Explanation:
since it is "i lantmannagöromål" i suggest that you put it like
X, X, X people of bothe sexes occupied with farming activities/chores

though i don't like my own "of both sexes" (especially with the typo)
what about
.....people, both men and women....

Explanation:
It's hard to make it sound good when one of the premodifiers has to be transformed to a postmodifier.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks, Hootntoot. This answer would be selected if you gave it in response to my earlier question yesterday on the same subject (it is not too late since I haven't yet selected any of the answers there), where I asked for help with the whole sentence. I can't really select it here since I only asked about 'lantmannagöromål'.

... agricultural work

Explanation:
.. agricultural work is perhaps a more formal and academic way of saying farming or farm work, and hence perhaps more appropriate in this context.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Charles, the original text was (as i stated in the question) published in a Swedish newspaper so I'm not sure that the more formal and academic expression you are proposing would be appropriate in this case.
