.... en slungblästermaskin som efter en inmatningssluss har en blästerkammare med tio slunghjulsaggregat.
I assume this has something to do with a lock or gate of some kind, but as this phase of the process is completely out of contest with the rest of the manuscript, I'm lost for an appropriate translation.

following my posting I spoke to one of the technicians involved in the project and he suggested feed sluice to be the most appropriate translation. He also mentioned the term input sluice that I had also hitherto been unfamiliar with.
I've entered this to the KudoZ open glossary.
