Swedish term or phrase: längsta uppgift

... att mäta det kommunikativa ledarskapet. Med det menar vi en ledares förmåga att bland annat förklara och förmedla en enhets längsta uppgift och hur den kan kopplas till den enskilde medarbetaren.

... and a little later:

... önskar att allt fler i organisationen har kännedom om sin enhets längsta uppgift.

The 'enhet' here is a group or team of employees, and I would guess that this refers to their main or most important function or duty.
Most extensive perhaps - in the sense of what they spend most time on, but I don't quite understand the use of the word "längst" in this context. It is a fairly informal text, not intended for specialists, explaining what the HR department does while everyone else is at work.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions!

Recently took a 2-day course in Project management (general, not translation) and am now an expert :)

So if you want to talk Gant charts, PERT or even Critical paths...

I also learnt how to plan the perfect time sensitive robbery (questions only answered after a signed NDA).
