visitor center

Explanation:
Levande besöksmål is alluding to the fact that this nis a place from the past, once abandoned but now it will be full of life again- its history will be revealed.
In essential- this is what in GB is called a visitor center, but with this added word in Swedish. Here I think Visitor center could stand on its own, could have the attribute Living Visitor Center but it shouldn't add anything really. A visitor center in GB is just this kind of place, a historic site alive again. Visitor Center is furthermore the phrase now used on Swedish web sites for these kinds of spots.

Example sentence(s):
  • Syftet med Visitor Center är att peka ut mot medeltida besöksmål i Västra Götaland och inspirera besökare att uppleva dessa intressanta platser.

disagree  Anna Herbst: A visitor centre is the same as an information centre. Ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visitor_Centre

  -> I know...but for historical sites, both in Great Britain and in Sweden, the term actually means that the historic spot is opened again so that history can come alive. "Levande besöksmål" is a bureucratic phrase for a visitor center built on spot of hist.
